Reading Logs

The more you read, the easier it gets. Just like an athlete who works out and practices their sport, you need to read to get better at reading. Today, I counted how many entries everybody had in their reading logs. A lot of people had ZERO; others had 20 or even 30. I know that most people have done more reading than is recorded in the reading log; I also know that some people have written entries just to make sure they have that assignment complete. I'm going to assume for a minute, however, that the reading logs are 100% accurate. Below I have listed the average number of entries for each class. Based on this, I have a pretty strong prediction about which class is going to improve their reading scores the most on the SRI and other in-class assessments we will be doing this month. I also have a guess about which class is going to see the least amount of growth. What do you think?

1st period: 6
2nd period: 6
3rd period: 8
4th period: 3
5th period: 4
6th period: 6

Now, let's do the math and consider how many reading log entries you COULD or SHOULD have after 72 days of school.........
